Set the first 400 characters of a PDF document automatically or subsequently as a file description

While our WP File Download plugin doesn't currently support automatic PDF content extraction for descriptions,
we've added this to our planning list for future development.
The feature is technically complex, but we're investigating how we might implement it.

In the meantime, we recommend manually renaming your files or adding descriptions to your most frequently accessed documents as a temporary solution.

I had this same question and in renaming each of the files, asked ChatGPT to create a description with a max of 23 words based on the file content. This worked very well for my needs. It does make the file name quite long, but serves the purpose you may need.
