Restrict Download by requiring email address and a password

Is it possible to restrict a person's ability to download a file by requiring them to enter both an email address (to collect for a mailing list) and a password? If so, do the email addresses get saved to a database that can be exported?

This feature is not included in our plugin. However, it is possible to customize your website to require a visitor's email and password before downloading.
